Three large cylinders mounted on the 16th Street facade of the Redstone building are illuminated inside by computer controlled strobe lights. Visitors standing beneath the suspended cylinders are washed by waves of light and sound that is generated in real time from the ambient noise surrounding the area. The installation, adapting itself to and influenced by the changing 16th street surroundings, should provide a source of solace for passerby from the chaotic Mission District environment. inside: The LAB Gallery Opening reception: Friday, May 31 7-9 PM Gallery hours: Saturday, June 1 and Wednesday-Saturday, June 5-29 1-6 PM Free admission during gallery hours.
